Nefab ExPak is a nail-less and foldable plywood box solution that takes up minimal storage space. The plywood box is very easy to assemble. It is a superior solution for export shipments, long-term storage and transportation and has a strong and durable design.

Foldable and Nail-less packaging

Nefab offers a wide spectrum of plywood boxes and shipping crates – Nefab ExPak, ranging from smaller one-unit solutions to larger solutions with up to six separate pieces, all foldable for ease of storage. The plywood boxes and crates are combined with galvanized steel profiles that perform as strong hinges. Optionally, Nefab ExPak can be tailor made for a wide range of functions and applications as well as certified for transportation of hazardous goods. Several locking solutions can be supplied if needed.

Every plywood box and crate from Nefab is approved by IPPC and complies with phytosanitary regulations. Nefab’s plywood boxes and crates are well suited for valuable, heavy weight and fragile goods and can be easily tracked through the special tracking system. They are also quick and easy to assemble.

Engineers at Nefab are able to customize designs with the help of specialized software and expertise in the area. This will minimize damage of products and will reduce overall costs. When developing an optimal packaging solution Nefab specialists take into account such important aspects as packaging material, product properties, sensitivity to handling methods of goods and transportation mode.

ExPak boxes are made of plywood combined with galvanized steel profiles acting as hinges. The boxes takes minimal storage space as it is delivered flat and in just one piece. 

ExPak is appropriate as export packaging in harsh conditions and can be certified for dangerous goods shipments. There are different versions of the ExPak box: Nefab ExPak A, Nefab ExPak P, Nefab ExPak S and Nefab ExPak XL. These boxes can be used for different applications and can be customized according to customer specifications and requirements.

Different verions of the ExPak Concept

ExPak A 

Nefab ExPak A consists of only one collapsible piece – bottom, lid and frame are attached to each other, simplifying handling and storage. The ExPak A is suitable for small-medium sized products.

ExPak P

Nefab ExPak P consists of three sections – bottom, lid and foldable frame – and is delivered flat to save space and shipping costs. The ExPak P is suitable for small-medium sized products.

ExPak S

Nefab ExPak S consists of six sections – bottom, lid and four loose sides. This design allows full access from all sides for loading and unloading, offering maximum flexibility in packing. The ExPak S is suitable for large products

ExPak XL

Nefab ExPak XL consists of six sections – bottom, lid and four loose sides. This design allows full access from all sides for loading and unloading. The ExPak XL is suitable for large products up to 20 cubic meters.

Locking Devices

There are several locking devices available for the NEFAB ExPak range. Standard tongues are normally used but depending on the type of goods, transport and packing process, customization can be easily made.

Standard tongue

The Standard tongue is a strong solution with no loose parts. It works very well with all packaging solutions but assembly time for an extremely large NEFAB ExPak S could be slightly longer. This locking system has no loose parts.

Spring Latch

The Spring Latch is mainly designed to be used on smaller boxes or for lids. It is a silent and easy operation to assemble or remove the locking device, which could also be reused. The Spring Latch performs well in strength tests.

Spring Clip

The Spring Clip and the Detachable tongue could be used when the packaging has to be opened several times. These two systems require the same mounting plate and can be used in conjunction or independently. These are fast and efficient locking systems.

Detachable tongue

Clamp

The Clamp solution is perfect for big boxes since each clamp can be assembled individually and there is no need to fit all locking devices at the same time.
